How the Woman/Man Ratio Affects Sex, Facial Hair, and Politics

In the 1970s, a Harvard psychologist proposed that the ratio of men to women shapes culture and politics. Her theory predicts U.S. social trends for the next 25 years.

When the sex ratio is low (too many women), women are more slender; when women are in short supply, as was the case in the United States in the 1950s, women are more curvaceous, perhaps because they are trying to look the part of traditional wife and mother. Barber’s studies, which often look at patterns in 40 countries or more, have shown the power of the sex ratio in predicting such things as the rate of nonmarital births, the practice of polygyny, and even the likelihood that men will grow facial hair. The more men there are, he found, the more hair they grow to attract mates.

When there is an excess of available men—as was true during most of U.S. history because most immigrants are male—marriage is generally revered and values are conservative. When available women outnumber available men, women are set free of the home, and values shift toward liberalism. But a low sex ratio also lowers the living standards of women and causes turmoil in relationships, mainly because men typically have more power in society, which they tend to exercise crudely when there are extra women around.

Homosexuality and the Re-colonization of Africa

Worldwide, culture and custom are incorporated into law through what has become known as customary law.

Throughout Africa, homosexuality is viewed as repugnant and an affront to God’s procreation designs. In African settings, homosexuality, together with other sacrilegious practices such as incest, is believed to bring misfortunes such as drought, floods or outbreaks of contagious diseases.

This has been part of African culture since time immemorial and no one can wish it away as it is the African way.

Buoyed by its culture and custom, the Ugandan parliament passed a bill that will outlaw some homosexual practices. There is nothing untoward about the Ugandan anti-gay bill since it is simply translating African culture into law.

Gay practices are not human rights but Western rights. Western countries should not force other nationalities to accept homosexuality.

Learning From the Nazis: Israel Admits Secretly Injecting Ethiopian Jews With Birth Control Drugs

57 percent of women who had received birth-control drug Depo-Provera in Israel are Ethiopian Jews, although they account for less than 2 percent of the overall population.  Depo-Provera was first used on Black populations in White apartheid South Africa.  The drug destroys a woman’s long-term ability to have children.

Ethiopian Jews are also forced to convert to Ashkenazi Jewish practices, based on the Talmud and adopted by Turkic converts from Khazaria centuries ago, and encouraged to discontinue the Ethiopian Judaic traditions of their religion.

A Genetic Mutation That Causes Humans to Walk on All Fours

In 2005, scientists discovered a few families in Hungary where some of the adults only walked on all fours. Few understood the causes of this rare condition, called Unertan syndrome. Some scientists speculated that the quadrupedal people had simply never learned to walk upright due to learning disabilities and lack of access to proper medical care. Others believed that these families had a mutation in a set of genes that cause humans to walk upright. Today at a conference, researchers in Turkey are presenting the results of a study where they analyzed the genomes in all four families. They are beginning to figure out what causes present-day humans to walk on all fours the way our distant ancestors did.
