Actress Defends “Submissive Role” with NHL Hubbie

Former Full House Star Candace Cameron Bure writes “I love that my man is a leader. I want him to lead and be the head of our family.”

“Those major decisions do fall on him, but it doesn’t mean I don’t voice my opinion or have an opinion, I absolutely do.”

But, ultimately, her husband gets the final say. “It is very difficult to have two heads of authority,” Bure explained. “It doesn’t work in military, it doesn’t work — I mean, you have one president, you know what I’m saying?”

She further explained: “We are equal in our . . . importance, but we are just different in our performances within our marriage.”

1 out of 3 young Iranian men “gay”?

29% of sexually active unmarried men in Iran are engaging in activities with other men, according to Are HIV Epidemics among Men Who Have Sex with Men Emerging in the Middle East and North Africa?: A Systematic Review and Data Synthesis.

Male-to-male sexual contact has to be rife in societies where heterosexual sex outside of marriage is very difficult, and marriage has to be delayed to the exigencies of the modern economy.

Large penises and an evolutionary theory of vaginal orgasm.

Women Who Prefer Longer Penises Are More Likely to Have Vaginal Orgasms (but Not Clitoral Orgasms): Implications for an Evolutionary Theory of Vaginal Orgasm

  • Likelihood of orgasm with a longer penis was related to greater vaginal orgasm frequency but unrelated to frequencies of other sexual behaviors, including clitoral orgasm.
  • Women who prefer deeper penile-vaginal stimulation are more likely to have vaginal orgasm, consistent with vaginal orgasm evolving as part of a female mate choice system favoring somewhat larger than average penises.

Penis Size Matters More to Men’s Attractiveness Than Previously Thought

  • The study is significant for demonstrating that penis length is as important as height and more important than shoulder-to-hip ratio in influencing attractiveness.
  • The study also pointed out, however, that women’s penile preferences aren’t always realistic.

The relative health benefits (and risks) of different sexual activities

A wide range of better psychological and physiological health indices are associated specifically with penile-vaginal intercourse.

Other sexual activities have weaker, no, or (in the cases of masturbation and anal intercourse) inverse associations with health indices.

Condom use appears to impair some benefits of penile-vaginal intercourse. Only a few of the research designs allow for causal inferences.

Everything You Wanted to Know About the ‘Polar Vortex’ That’s Engulfed Much of N. America with Freezing Temps

How can such a thing happen with global warming?  If climate change is real, then how did it get so cold?

  • The Polar Vortex, a huge system of moving swirling air that normally contains the polar cold air, has shifted so it is not sitting right on the pole as it usually does,”  Laden writes. “We are not seeing an expansion of cold, an ice age, or an anti-global warming phenomenon. We are seeing the usual cold polar air taking an excursion. So, this cold weather we are having does not disprove global warming.
  • Arctic warming, she said, is causing less drastic changes in temperatures between northern and southern climates, leading to weakened west-to-east winds, and ultimately, a wavier jet stream. The stream’s recent “waviness” has been taking coldness down to the temperate United States and leaving Alaska and the Arctic relatively warm, Francis said. The same thing has been happening in other countries as well. Winter storms have been pounding the U.K., she noted, while Scandinavia is having a very warm winter.“The drunk part is that the jet stream is in this wavy pattern, like a drunk walking along,” Francis, who primarily studies Arctic links to global weather patterns, said. “In other places, you could see the tropics are drunk.”

Neanderthal Brains Show Fatal Lack of Social Skills

Since Neanderthals used a greater proportion of their brain for basic motion and vision control, they didn’t have as much brain capacity left to innovate. For example, they had smaller parietal lobes, which humans use for navigation and language skills. When the Ice Age rolled around, Neanderthals couldn’t create complex societies or trade networks to overcome resource scarcities, which scientists think ultimately did them in.

How People REALLY Lived During the Stone Age

A growing movement seeks to reproduce the hunter-gatherer lifestyle: running barefoot, pondering polygamy, relying on a diet of meat. But even our ancestors never lived this way. And besides, modern humans have evolved.

It is hard to argue that a simpler life with more exercise, fewer processed foods, and closer contact with our children may well be good for us, but rather than renouncing modern living for the sake of our Stone Age genes, we need to understand how evolution has—and hasn’t—suited us for the world we inhabit now.
